The Process

The Exterior Wallcoat Protection System is much more than just painting. It not only renovates the exterior of your home but also insulates, keeping your walls dry, home warmer and much more.

The Exterior Wallcoat Protection System is available in a wide variety of colours. All colours use use light fast pigments of the highest quality to ensure good colour stability on exposure to sunlight, thus preventing fading and discolouration.

Weather and climatic conditions are a real challenge for exterior masonry paints, whether it be wind driven rain, freeze/thaw cracking, acid rain, industrial pollution, dirt pick up in urban areas or mildew growth in maritime climates. The Exterior Wallcoat Protection System can be applied all year round. The resin coating technology allows adaptation of drying time to weather conditions without affecting film formation and can be applied in cold or hot weather. Exterior Wallcoat coatings are rain resistant 60 minutes after application, eliminating the risk of damage by sudden showers.

Power washing

Exterior Wallcoat - Powerwashing to remove years of soot mould and algae

Water containing strong fungicides is applied by pressure spray onto the exterior walls. Years of soot, mould, algae and loosely adhered paints are removed by this process, thus making any damaged render or brickwork apparent.

Masking and Priming

Exterior Wallcoat - Masking windows, doors, paths and surrounding areas

Once cracks to the render and other similar surfaces are repaired, all doors, windows, paths and surrounding areas are masked with tape and heavy duty paper. Great care is taken to protect plants, bushes and lawns.

Restoration and Preparation

Exterior Wallcoat - Using polymer modified cements to repair pebble dash, stucco and badly pointed brick work

On rough surfaces such as pebble dash, stucco, badly pointed brickwork etc, polymer modified cements are used for repairing. This ensures a perfect bond, prior to application.

Final Application

Exterior Wallcoat - Final application of the coating using specialist spray equipment

Applied by specialist spray equipment, the coating is sprayed onto the surface using up to 1000 lbs of pressure. Exterior Wallcoat coating is approximately 20 times thicker than conventional paint and the textured finish will help to conceal any repair work that has been undertaken.

Leveling Render

Exterior Wallcoat - A leveling render compound may trowel applied to brick, pebble dash, stucco etc

A leveling render compound is trowel applied to brick, pebble dash, stucco etc, which will bring a rough surface up to a more even surface prior to application. If necessary a damp proof rail is fitted. Please Note: This process does not form part of the standard application and is charged extra.
